A
HERO'S LEGACY... |
|
Fred Hoppe has created what the Veteran's Task Force calls one of the
'greatest tributes ever completed for the Veterans of the Twentieth
Century." Besides designing, funding, and building the
Veteran's Memorial Museum, Hoppe also collected and wrote the scripts
for over 2,000 rare military artifacts he donated to the Museum.
The Museum showcases an incredible collection of exhibits covering the
heights and depths of the wartime experience, from the American
Revolution through the 9/11 attacks and the War on Terror. For
those who lived through these wars, the memories brought back are vivid
and overwhelming. For those privileged enough to live in
peacetime, the museum is an awe-inspiring experience, informing present
and future generations of the sacrifices made by our Veterans!
Hoppe was inspired by the stories of sacrifice he heard from his father,
Fred Hoppe, Sr., and the men that fought alongside his father during
some of World Ear II's bloodiest battles. Fred Hoppe Sr. is
honored with a painting depicting his heroic rescue of a wounded
soldier. He is also the model for the lead soldier in the World War II
memorial bronze sculpture. Hoppe says, "I wanted to honor the
men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy
today. I just want the American public to be as proud of our
Veterans as I am." |
