Everything At The
Apple Barn Comes Straight From The Farm |
The gleaming white Apple Barn at the heart of our complex is a
real barn, converted to our use, and this is a genuine working
farm. We grow and pick fourteen varieties of apples from more than
4,000 trees. The fruit will eventually become sweet cider, apple
butter, pies, candies, ice cream, and lots more, even while you
watch. That's part of our magic...you can see the apples turned
into delicious treats for you to sample on the spot or take home.
Our delightful, old-timey ice cream
parlor, "The Creamery," is the place where childhood
memories are made or recalled. The rich, creamy taste of true
homemade ice cream sundaes, sodas and shakes brings out the kid in
all of us.
The gracious, Southern hospitality of the
historic Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and new Applewood
Farmhouse Grill can only be topped by the outstanding food they
serve. Located next to the Apple Barn, they offer all of your
country favorites, and a few intriguing new treats, all made from
scratch and "touched by the magic of apples.' Take a lazy
drive down Apple Valley Road, where the river meanders by, and
discover for yourself just how many ways there are to enjoy
apples!
The ever-growing Apple Barn complex
invites you to sample the Cider Bar for a glass of fresh, sweet
cider, along with our famous fried apple pies. We dare you to
sniff the aroma of the Pie Kitchen without taking some baked goods
along with you. The Candy Factory is a perennial favorite, where
old fashioned candy delights are created by hand on century old
equipment in front of your very eyes. When's the last time you had
a genuine, handmade jawbreaker? Drop by the Winery tasting bar for
samples of the best in fruit wines. And do save ample time for a
browse in the Apple Barn General Store! Be sure to pick up and
apple wood smoked ham, ham slices or bacon while exploring our
treasure trove of not only apples and apple products, but local
crafts, collectibles, time-tested equipment for serious cooks,
cook books, jams, jellies, condiments, and much, MUCH MORE! |

See, Smell And
Taste The Fruits Of The Apple Barn |
|
Visiting the Apple Barn is a uniquely sensual experience,
involving all of your senses, one at a time or often all at once.
As you stroll through the complex, you're surrounded by hillsides
covered with trees in various stages of producing a huge variety
of the world's most historic fruit. The delicious fragrance of
apple envelopes you as you step into the General Store, where you
can buy apple potpourri, cook books, charms, aprons, earrings, and
a whole lot of other things that relate to the mighty apple by
look, smell or taste. For example, our entire section is devoted
to the products of pressed apples—juice, cider, & sparkling
juice. That's right next to bins of apples directly off of the
tree. A single bite of a fresh, crunchable apple, and we betcha
you can't stop with just one! Nearby, refrigerator cases hold hams
and bacon slabs that have been slowly, delicately flavored over
smoldering apple wood. Then there's the bakery, steeped in the
aroma of just-baked apple pies, fried pies, apple dumplings and
more; next, pop your head into the Candy Factory where the air is
a blend of chocolate and apple aromas. By the time you've sampled
our special apple flavors at the Winery, and polished off an apple
sundae at the Creamery, and stopped by the Christmas and Candle
Shop, you'll be absolutely amazed at the innovative, innumerable
ways there are to appreciate apples. Just in case you missed
anything, take one of our catalogs home. For your convenience, we
ship our products anywhere. |
